WE RAN THE FIRST PRODUCTION FROM THE LARGE LOG MILL AT THE PLANER TODAY! WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO NOW BE ABLE TO OFFER A COMPLETE LINE OF DIMENSION FROM 2X4 THROUGH 2X12 FROM 8' TO 20'.
HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF THE H/F KD 2X12 AS IT WAS GOING THROUGH OUR NEW HI-TECH PLANER MILL.
This is a picture of the H/F KD 2X12 coming in from the in-feed deck into the planer mill.

At this point two employees make sure that the 2x12's are straight before getting to the in-feed rolls before the planer mill.

Here the in-feed rolls grab each 2x12 and pull them into the planer mill.

After the planer mill the 2x12 then goes out onto the grading station in-feed deck.

Here is some of the surfaced 2x12 before it gets to our WWPA certified graders.

Here is a picture taken from the far end of the grading stations. As you see we have four graders at separate stations. Unlike traditional dimension lumber mills our grading station uses state of the art belts to lift up every fourth board to each individual grader so that the 2x12 that they are grading is moving past them at one quarter the speed of the main belt below. This gives them more time to grade each piece of lumber to ensure that the customer gets exactly the grade they desire.

Each piece of lumber then moves through a scanner that reads the grade, is trimmed appropriately, is then automatically graded and is put into the respective sort bin based on its length and grade.

Here are some pictures of the 2x12 as it is going into the 20' 2&BTR sort bin.

Once the bin is full, it drops down onto a reverse chain that brings it back into the mill directly under the lumber graders to be stacked, banded and wrapped.

And down the road it goes!!!!!!!!!!
